Drop Your Bags, Then Explore

Paddington is one of London's best-connected transport hubs, and it's surrounded by some of the capital's finest attractions. Instead of dragging heavy luggage through museums and parks, store your bags with us for just £6 per day and explore London hands-free. Here are the best things to do near Paddington Station once your bags are safely stored.

1. Hyde Park (5 Minutes' Walk)

Just a five-minute stroll from our Praed Street facility, Hyde Park is one of London's eight Royal Parks and a wonderful place to spend a few hours. Walk along the Serpentine lake, visit the Diana Memorial Fountain, or simply find a deckchair and watch the world go by. If you're visiting during winter, Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland is one of London's biggest festive attractions — and you won't want to drag suitcases through the crowds.

2. Kensington Gardens & Kensington Palace (10 Minutes' Walk)

Adjacent to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens is home to the Italian Gardens, the Albert Memorial, and the Serpentine Gallery. At the western edge sits Kensington Palace, the official London residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The State Rooms are open to the public, and the sunken garden is one of the most photographed spots in London.

3. Little Venice (10 Minutes' Walk)

Head north from Paddington and you'll discover Little Venice, a picturesque network of canals and waterways lined with colourful narrowboats, waterside cafés, and pubs. Take a canal boat trip to Camden Lock or simply walk the towpath — it's one of London's most unexpectedly peaceful corners and a photographer's dream.

4. Paddington Bear at Paddington Station

No visit to Paddington is complete without saying hello to Paddington Bear. You'll find a bronze statue of everyone's favourite duffle-coated bear on Platform 1, plus the Paddington Bear Shop in the station concourse where you can pick up marmalade, books, and bear-themed gifts. It's free, it's fun, and it's right where you left your train.

5. The Serpentine Galleries

Two free contemporary art galleries sit on either side of the Serpentine lake in Kensington Gardens. The Serpentine Gallery and Serpentine Sackler Gallery host rotating exhibitions by world-renowned artists and architects. Both are free to enter and open Tuesday to Sunday.

6. Oxford Street & Marble Arch (15 Minutes' Walk)

Walk south-east from Paddington and you'll reach Marble Arch and the western end of Oxford Street — Europe's busiest shopping street. With over 300 shops including Selfridges, John Lewis, and flagship stores from every major brand, it's a shopper's paradise. Store your bags first though — navigating Oxford Street with luggage is nobody's idea of fun.

7. The Science Museum & Natural History Museum (20 Minutes by Tube)

Jump on the Circle or District line from Paddington to South Kensington and you're at two of London's best free museums in under 20 minutes. The Natural History Museum's dinosaur gallery and earthquake simulator are perennial favourites, while the Science Museum's interactive exhibits appeal to all ages. Both are free to enter.

8. The West End & Theatreland

Paddington is just a short tube ride from London's West End. Catch a matinee performance, explore Covent Garden's street performers and boutique shops, or walk through Trafalgar Square to the National Gallery. The Piccadilly line from nearby Green Park or the Bakerloo line from Paddington will get you into Theatreland in under 15 minutes.

9. Notting Hill & Portobello Road Market

A pleasant 15-minute walk or a short bus ride from Paddington, Notting Hill's pastel-coloured houses and Portobello Road Market are iconic London sights. Visit on a Saturday for the full antiques and vintage market experience, or any day of the week for the cafés, bookshops, and boutiques that make this neighbourhood one of London's most charming.

10. Regent's Canal Walk to Camden

From Little Venice, the Regent's Canal towpath runs all the way to Camden Lock — about a 40-minute walk through leafy north London. You'll pass through Regent's Park (detour for London Zoo if you have time), past the elegant villas of Primrose Hill, and arrive at Camden Market where street food, vintage shopping and live music await.

Every one of these attractions is within walking distance or a short tube ride from our left luggage facility on Praed Street. Store your bags for a few hours or the whole day — at £6 per bag it's the most affordable way to make the most of your time in London.
